Typical Japanese Landscape 10

The "beach" at Gotsu

  1. Ahhh yes. Concrete.

My neighbor is one of the most helpful guys in the village. We would not have made it through this year so well without he and his wife.

But... he runs a concrete laying business. In just the year we have moved in, even our immediate surroundings have changed drastically with the addition of new concrete everywhere we turn. That nice dirt road that had no problems... concrete. The once beautiful stone path to the cemetary... concrete. The neighbors garden... concrete.

Granted, he is doing this on the wishes of other people, but he really LOVES concrete. I guess I should be happy that he found his passion in life.

  2. The Japanese passion for concrete remains inexplicable to me...:)
